Chronoswiss was started by Gerd-R. Lang in the early 1980s. A desire to own new, innovative, high-quality mechanical watches would remain, and even grow stronger, and no quartz watch would ever meet this need. So, he went ahead, positioning Chronoswiss as the watch for people who are serious and knowledgeable about watches. In Gerd-R. Lang's own words: "The hands of a watch truly are "the hands of time" - filigreed artworks that stretch into space and towards their beholder. That's why I devote a bit more time and effort to ensure that my Bréguet Losange hands always have exactly the right length and proportions. After all, in the course of a typical day, most of us look at our watches more often than we look in the mirror. That's why I'd never dream, for example, of merely cutting the tip of a watch's hand to its proper length. Instead, after it's been cut, each tip is then manually sharpened to precisely the correct length and shape - with tolerances in the .01 millimeter range. Are you beginning to understand what it is that makes me tick?" | |
