How
To Increase Your Sales With Your Online Shopping Cart Setup Software
The
steps below will walk you through the online shopping cart
software I use for my body care products web site to give you
a
feel and an understanding of the power behind the 1shoppingcart.com online shopping cart software.
I've
been using this software for the last two years and use it to
run my affiliate program as well
as process orders and maintain a customer database. In all honesty the behind the scenes setup and configuration interface
doesn't have the slick, smoothy feel of some shopping
cart programs.
What
it does have is an amazing array of customizable modules so
you can do practically anything you want, to increase the
chances that your web site visitors will turn into paying
customers.
This online shopping cart software really is for power users.
Just
follow the steps below and take note of the features and
tips you may want to integrate into your shopping cart setup. (A
new window will open so you can tile this window and the
new window side by side to make the tutorial easier)
Step
1
Click
here and go to http://www.1bodycare.com
Step
2
Click
on any product link in the catalog list at the top of the
page.
This
will take you to a picture of the product with pricing information
to the right.
Step
3
Notice
the "Click Here" text link. Hover your mouse over
the link and look at the status bar in your browser. You
will see
something like:
http://www.1shoppingcart.com/app/netcart.asp?MerchantID=55189&ProductID=2248286
When you create a product in the 1shoppingcart.com setup,
a link like this is assigned to the product. You can then
use it to link images or text links on your sales page. Additionally
you can use the Tracking feature in 1shoppingcart.com to make
this link a tracking link so you can trace which link or page
your sales are coming from.
Step 4
Click
on the "Click Here" text link for the product you
selected. This now takes you to the shopping cart summary
page. Notice
these features:
The web site logo is displayed at the top*
A "Yes" box
is inserted to get the customer in a positive frame of mind
and to give simple clear directions on what they
should do next.*
A
summary of the order up to this point is shown with options
at the bottom to recalculate if the customer chooses to change
the Quantity field, Clear the Shopping Cart, Continue Shopping
to add other items, or go to the Check Out.
Step 5
Click
the "Check Out" button. The final order page is
now displayed. Note these features:
The web site logo is displayed at the top for continuity*
A Security Statement is inserted at the top to allay any customer
anxiety*
There are options to pay via credit card or PayPal*
A Shipping Method drop down menu gives multiple choices*
A final reminder is inserted to make sure the correct shipping
method is selected*
A
suggestion to retry the order if it is declined is included
just above the "Continue To Payment Information" button*
Step 6
Click
the "Cancel" button to finish the walk-through
tutorial.
If
you had clicked the "Continue To Payment Information" button
you would have been taken to this page:
http://www.1bodycare.com/thankyou.htm
Again,
you can setup any landing page you wish with whatever information
you want to give your new customer.
Note:
All items marked with an * above
have been created and customized according to my own requirements.
You put in those places whatever
you feel will "grease the chute" and make it easier
for your customer to commit to the final purchase.
We have only explored one part of this online shopping cart
software package and just scratched the surface. Hopefully
this has shown you how you can give your order pages the look
and feel you want to blend in with your web site.
Notice how many clicks there were between seeing the product
and paying for it - 3!
1st
click: The "Click Here" text link
2nd
click: The Shopping Cart contents for final checking
3rd
click: The "Continue To Payment Information" button
This is crucial. Every time a customer has to click, you risk
losing them to what is termed 'shopping cart abandonment' where
customers start the purchasing process but have second thoughts
as they progress and then abort the process.
So keep the number of hurdles a customer has to get over to
a bare minimum. Make the ordering process as seamless, smooth,
and reassuring as possible.
Now that you have gained an overview of the process why not
take a 1 month demo yourself and start exploring the many features
of 1shoppingcart.com and note which ones will be useful in
your business.
The software comes with numerous tutorials and video clips
to help you with the setup.
Best wishes with your online business!
